What are the different advisories in the map?

Start by discovering and understanding the airspace in your flight area. Turn on location services to view relevant advisories. Enter an address in the search bar,  or interact with the map to discover information about other areas.  Once you have located your area of interest, identify potential concerns in the Advisories section.

Advisories contain details of airports, Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR), sensitive sites and other airspace information in the area that may require your attention. Information displayed in the Advisory list details the actions required as well as areas to avoid.  

The advisory colors listed indicate varying levels of hazard pertaining to your Flight Plan:

These areas specify that this is a restricted zone for drone flights.  Red advisories denote  restricted areas in which flights are not permitted under any circumstance. Such restricted areas include National Parks, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) areas, emergency response zones and Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs). 

Indicates that one or more actions are required by the remote pilot in order to fly legally. For example, this advisory will appear near airports, heliports, and in special use airspaces such as Prohibited and Restricted airspaces.

The area of operation may contain sensitive areas such as schools, hospitals, prisons, power plants or other critical infrastructure. See AirMap recommendations for more information.

Areas with a Green status indicate that no action is needed by the remote pilot in order to fly legally.
