LAANC Authorization using iOS/Android
Step 1: Verify LAANC is available: Participating LAANC facilities
Step 2: Select Mission Type: "FAA Part 107"
Step 3: Add a Flight Plan
Step 4: Adjust the Flight Plan area
Step 5: Enter Pre-flight Checklist details and select "Brief Flight Plan"
Step 6: Review Flight Brief and "Submit Flight Plan"
Flight Briefing
The Authorization & Notification section will display one of the following:
Authorized Upon Submission: The pilot has entered all appropriate Flight Plan information to receive authorization. The pilot must SUBMIT FLIGHT to request authorization.
Manual Authorization Upon Submission: This confirms that the pilot has entered all required details, but that the Flight Plan exceeds the recommended flight altitude and requires FAA review. Learn more about Manual Authorizations here.
Rejected Upon Submission: The Flight Plan is missing pilot information (First name, Last Name, Phone Number) or occurs within restricted airspace. Authorization will not be granted.
LAANC Authorization using Web App
Step 1: Verify LAANC is available: Participating LAANC facilities
Step 2: Select Mission Type: "FAA Part 107"
Step 3: Add a Flight Plan
Step 4: Adjust Flight Plan area boundary
Step 5: Enter Pre-flight Checklist details and select "Brief Flight Plan"
Step 6: Review Flight Plan Brief and "Submit Flight Plan"
The Authorization & Notification section will display one of the following:
Authorized Upon Submission: The pilot has entered all appropriate Flight Plan information to receive authorization. The pilot must SUBMIT FLIGHT to request authorization.
Manual Authorization Upon Submission: The Flight Plan exceeds the recommended flight altitude and requires review by the FAA. Learn more about Manual Authorizations here.
Rejected Upon Submission: This confirms that the Fight Plan is missing pilot information or submitted too early for Manual Authorization. The Flight Plan will be rejected.

NOTE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) works to approve flights within 30 days. Authorization from the FAA is not guaranteed. If no action is taken by the FAA before 24 hours of the flight planned, AirMap will reply with a cancellation of the flight as it no longer meets the flight requirements.
